This cycle of conferences invites the public to discover one of the most fascinating civilisations of Antiquity through its symbols, rituals, and spiritual teachings. Throughout the meetings, the sacred universe of Egypt, the soul's journey in the afterlife, and the profound meaning of the so-called “Egyptian Book of the Dead” will be explored. More than a historical approach, this cycle proposes a cultural, symbolic, and initiatory reading of the Egyptian tradition. Each conference will open a window onto the mysteries of life, death, and inner transformation according to the ancient Egyptian perspective.
16 October | Mysterious Egypt What continues to make ancient Egypt one of the most fascinating civilisations in history is not only the grandeur of its monuments but, above all, the depth of its worldview. This conference invites the audience to enter this symbolic horizon, where religion, myth, ritual, and sacred knowledge intertwine in a conception of the cosmos marked by mystery and inner transformation. Far from limiting itself to an archaeological or purely historical reading, the meeting proposes an approach to Egypt as an initiatory civilisation, capable of still speaking to the imagination and spiritual quest of human beings.
Throughout the presentation, the differences between the external and internal dimensions of Egyptian religion will be explored, as well as the role of texts, symbols, and temples in the transmission of reserved knowledge. The four great sacred centres of ancient Egypt (Heliopolis, Memphis, Hermopolis, and Thebes) will also be evoked as places of theological elaboration, spiritual radiation, and synthesis of different traditions. The conference will culminate in a true initiatory journey through the land of the pharaohs, guiding the audience through a sacred geography where each city, each rite, and each image refers to a higher idea of order, rebirth, and immortality.
23 October | The Egyptian Book of the Dead Often cited but rarely understood in its true depth, the so-called Egyptian Book of the Dead is one of the most fascinating texts of ancient spirituality. This conference proposes an introductory yet penetrating reading of its nature, function, and symbolism, showing that it is not simply a collection of funerary formulas but rather an authentic itinerary.
