A structured programme for those looking to explore their own identity, values and emotions through the reflection found in literature. The premise is simple and powerful: what we read chooses us because, in some way, it belongs to us.
Methodology:
- Welcoming and Sharing: In the library, we start with a discussion circle where each participant is invited to share what the text has evoked: memories, discomforts, joys, or questions.
- The Literary Mirror: Through guiding questions, the facilitator helps the group identify which characters, situations, or phrases acted as a "mirror" for their own lives.
- Personal Record: The session concludes with a moment of individual free writing or drawing, where each participant can document their discoveries about themselves, creating a personal journal of their self-discovery journey.
Free Parking - The Cultural Centre of Lagos and the Municipal Library of Lagos offer free parking at the riverside park (Avenida dos Descobrimentos) for attendees of their shows/events. To receive this discount, visitors must present a stamp obtained at the ticket office of the Cultural Centre of Lagos or the entrance of the Municipal Library of Lagos at the park's reception. This offer is valid only one hour before and up to one hour after each show/event.
