The Library, as a space of knowledge and culture, is also a place of refuge, introspection, and human connection. We propose the realization of the Conscious Bibliotherapy Cycles, an innovative activity aimed at exploring the therapeutic and transformative potential of literature, going beyond simple reading.

Through techniques that combine literature with gentle and expressive therapeutic approaches (such as theater and metaphor analysis), a safe and welcoming space will be created for personal development and emotional well-being of participants.

Program:

1. Welcome and Conversation Circle: We will start with a brief conversation to create an environment of trust and sharing, introducing the theme of the session.
2. Shared Reading: A selected excerpt from a book, poem, or chronicle addressing the theme will be read. The choice of text may vary between classics of Portuguese and world literature or contemporary authors.
3. Therapeutic and Theatrical Techniques: Based on the text read, group dynamics inspired by therapeutic techniques (active listening, validation of feelings) and theatrical (improvisation, body expression, dramatized reading) will be used to explore the emotions and reflections that arose. For example, participants may be invited to "stage" an implicit dialogue in the text or to express bodily the feeling that a phrase awakened in them.
4. Final Sharing: We conclude with a moment of voluntary sharing about the experience, reinforcing the bonds created in the group.

BIOGRAPHY: Alfredo Rollo is a specialist in personal development, with over 15 years of experience in the fields of arts and psychology. He works in clinical settings and with groups, combining theater, psychology, and meditation to generate emotional well-being, insights, and better stress management, as well as disinhibition and preparation for acting in various contexts, with better oratory and body expression. He also serves as a teacher of theater and psychoanalytic theory.

Free parking - The Cultural Center of Lagos and the Municipal Library of Lagos offer free parking in the Ribeirinha Front park (Avenida dos Descobrimentos) for the audience of their shows/events. To receive this discount, the user must present, at the park's reception, a stamp obtained at the ticket office of the Cultural Center of Lagos or the entrance of the Municipal Library of Lagos. The offer only applies one hour before and up to one hour after each show/event.
