From June 26 to 28, Lagoa will once again be one of the cities participating in another edition of the ⚽Challenge Cup Algarve 2026🏆. Admission is free! The ⚽Challenge Cup Algarve 2026🏆 is an international youth football tournament that will take place on June 26, 27, and 28, 2026, in the cities of Lagos, Lagoa, and Portimão, bringing together around 200 teams and approximately 4,000 athletes from 10 countries: Portugal, Spain, France, the United States of America, Brazil, the Philippines, the Republic of Ireland, Luxembourg, Chile, and Canada. The national representation is noteworthy, with teams from all districts of mainland Portugal, as well as from the Autonomous Regions of the Azores and Madeira, making this event a true gathering of Portuguese youth football. Around 10,000 families are also expected to accompany their young athletes, which represents a significant impact on the region, both touristically and economically. The tournament includes male and female categories for Under-9, Under-10, Under-11, Under-12, Under-13, Under-14, Under-15, and Under-17, establishing itself as one of the largest and most diverse youth football competitions held in the Algarve. More than just a sports competition, the ⚽Challenge Cup Algarve 2026🏆 is a platform for cultural exchange and the promotion of values such as fair play and sports education, contributing to the holistic development of young athletes and strengthening sports tourism in the Algarve region.
