Three friends, a white canvas, and an unexpected conflict: Art, by Yasmina Reza, premieres at Teatro Maria Matos in September, directed by António Pires and featuring performances by Cristóvão Campos, Nuno Lopes, and Rui Melo.

The play offers a sharp and surprising portrait, with a sense of humour, about adult friendships, ego, and the difficulty of accepting different viewpoints. It tells the story of a friendship shaken by something seemingly simple: the purchase of a completely white painting, with white stripes, signed by a renowned contemporary artist. Sérgio decides to buy the painting. Marco cannot hide his disbelief. Ivo tries, without much success, to be the peacemaker. What could be just a difference in taste quickly transforms into a battle of egos, resentments, and hilarious revelations. Amidst laughter, silences, and tensions, the unpredictable side of friendship is revealed.
