The Anemone Project revolutionized the world by allowing the transfer of negative memories to other people, in exchange for money. The procedure is expensive, exclusive, and promises a clean restart.
Seraphine and Lázaro Delambre are the sensation couple in the artistic scene: she, an emerging composer and performer, and he, an illustrator renowned for his dark art. Behind their public image, they hide a marriage marked by silence and demons that they decide to hand over to Anemone.
On the other side of privilege, Bento lives on the edge. In debt and exhausted, he works as a courier and agrees to become the receiver of a stranger's toxic memories. The company guarantees that he will never remember them or know to whom they belonged.
Until the day he makes a delivery at the Delambre's home and Seraphine opens the door. In that moment, an intense and inexplicable hatred awakens within him. The memories cease to be diffuse. They become real. Violent. And nothing will ever be the same again.
The Weight of Others is a disturbing psychological thriller about memory, guilt, and relationships in a world held hostage by technology, where forgetting is a privilege and someone always has to carry what has been left behind.
