Algarve Camerata in residence... Voices of Romanticism
View original eventSource: Viral Agenda
This concert combines romantic lyricism, concert virtuosity, and moments of great choral elevation, in a program built to touch both emotion and the beauty of melodies.
It opens with Tchaikovsky's Andante cantabile, a page of serenity and warmth, where the string writing creates an intimate and deeply singable atmosphere.
Next is the Violin Concerto in G minor by Max Bruch, one of the most emblematic works of the romantic violin repertoire, performed by soloist João Pedro Cunha. In this page of great expressive intensity, the violin alternates between moments of deep lyricism and passages of virtuosic brilliance, leading the orchestra in a passionate, noble, and engaging discourse.
At the heart of the concert is Schubert's Mass in G Major, presented with the VoxAradeXXV Choir — artistic direction by Valter Fralda —, bringing a spiritual and luminous dimension, marked by generous melodies and a feeling of hope very characteristic of the composer.
The closing with Mozart's Ave Verum offers a brief and moving farewell, of pure simplicity and timeless beauty, leaving in the end a silence full of meaning.
