The Journey of Camões - Theatre for Schools

This performance takes the audience on a journey through time, telling the story of Luís Vaz de Camões, the greatest Portuguese poet, in a fun and educational way for young people. It is created to mark the fifth centenary of the birth of the Poet Maior da Língua Portuguesa, following a request from teachers at the Agrupamento de Escolas de Sousel, eager to diversify and energise how they convey the poet's life and work.

The show explores key moments in Camões' journey, such as his youth, the battles he faced, his exile, and the creation of his masterpiece, Os Lusíadas. With a mix of humour, adventure, poetry, and plenty of music, the narrative highlights the importance of literature and the courage needed to overcome life's challenges.
