27th National Folklore Festival of Figueira

The twenty-seventh edition of the National Folklore Festival of Figueira celebrates Portuguese tradition on July 18.

Figueira is preparing to host another edition of the National Folklore Festival, an event dedicated to the preservation and appreciation of Portuguese cultural traditions. The 27th National Folklore Festival of Figueira will take place on July 18, 2026, at the Figueira Sports Complex, starting at 9:00 PM with free entry.

Organized by the Folklore Group of Figueira, the festival will feature the participation of groups from various regions of the country, providing the audience with a journey through different expressions of Portuguese folklore.

Among the invited groups are:

Folklore Group of Figueira – Portimão

Folklore Group The Fishermen of Tancos – Santarém

Folklore Group of the Lavradeiras of Vila Franca – Viana do Castelo

Group of Pauliteiros de Miranda – Sendim, Miranda do Douro

In addition to the folkloric performances, the night will continue in a festive atmosphere with a dance party animated by Manel João, starting at 11:30 PM.

The National Folklore Festival of Figueira is already a cultural reference in the region, bringing generations together around traditional Portuguese music, dance, and customs.

The event is supported by the Portimão City Council, the parish council of Mexilhoeira Grande, the Figueirense Recreational Society, and the Parish of Mexilhoeira Grande.

The organization invites the entire community and visitors to participate in this celebration of national cultural identity.
