O autor José Carlos Barros já venceu vários prémios literários, com destaque para o Prémio Nacional de Poesia Sebastião da Gama, conquistado em 2009, com a obra “Sete Epígonos de Tebas". Em 2021, com o livro “As Pessoas Invisíveis”, ganhou o Prémio LeYa, do qual já tinha sido finalista com o romance “Um Amigo Para o Inverno” (2012).
